86th Airlift Wing prepares for D-Day 73 commemoration
U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Matthew Gee, 37th Airlift Squadron aircraft loadmaster, hangs the American flag inside a C-130J Super Hercules assigned to Ramstein Air Base, Germany, before taking off at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport, France, May 30, 2017. This event commemorates the 73rd anniversary of D-Day, the largest multi-national amphibious landing and operational military airdrop in history, and highlights the U.S.' steadfast commitment to European allies and partners.
