Chief Master Sergeant David E. Satchell

Chief Master Sergeant David E. Satchell is the Command Chief of the 521st Air Mobility Operations Wing, Ramstein Air Base, Germany which consists of two air mobility operations groups; one at Ramstein Air Base and one at Naval Station Rota, Spain. The Air Mobility Operations Wing provides all command and control, en route maintenance support, aeromedical evacuation, and air transportation services for theater and strategic air mobility missions in Europe, Southwest Asia, and Northern Africa spanning across 21 geographically separated squadrons, detachments and operating locations in support of USTRANSCOM, USEUCOM, USAFRICOM, and USCENTCOM combatant command engagements. In this capacity, Chief Satchell serves as the senior enlisted leader and principal advisor to the commander on all issues regarding the readiness, welfare, professional development, and efficient management of over 2,300 junior officer and enlisted personnel. Chief Satchell is from Omaha, Nebraska. He enlisted on active duty in 1990 as a Dental Assistant Apprentice, beginning at Sembach Air Base, Federal Republic of Germany. Chief Satchell retrained to the Command Post career field in 2003, where he led command and control for Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE), at Travis Air Force Base, California. Prior to his current assignment, he served as the United States Air Force Expeditionary Operations School Superintendent, responsible for 290 instructors providing mobility and combat readiness training to general purpose forces to survive and operate outside-the-wire in hostile and uncertain environments. Chief Satchell has as variety of deployments to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sultanate of Oman, and Baghdad, Iraq.
